Food Shot: Wing United, Denpasar Junction, Bali

Chicken wings done right! Crisp on the outside while still moist inside; Wing United offers pleasure in form of chicken wings. What's unique here is the choices of sauce available, e.g.: barbecue, teriyaki, atomic, lemon & garlic, which you can mix in one order, i.e.: two for each flavours.

Its taste is finger lickin' good, and they're affordable. They will also certainly keep both of your hands busy; hence even though free WiFi is available, you might want to hold off the drive to continually checks your Facebook account, to avoid smudging your device's screen, or risking the chance that you'll want to lick it as well after all of the juices are gone from the tray.

Wing United is located in Denpasar Junction in Jalan Teuku Umar, Denpasar, Bali.

Invitation to BonChon Food Blogger Party

I would like to express my appreciation to Michelle and Rizal from Michelindo Food International, on their invitation for Epicurina to attend BonChon Chicken Blogger's Party last 11 February 2011.

However as I'm still resides in Bali therefore I can't make it to the event due to the distance. I hope you'll be opening a branch in Bali as well!

Revisiting Nasi Ayam Warung Krishna in Sanur, Bali

I just had a lunch at Warung Krishna, in Jalan Kutat Lestari, Sanur. Last time I remembered that their Nasi Ayam was quite hot; however now I felt they're just mildly spicy, without even creating the sweaty scalp I usually have upon encountering hot foods.

Have I got my resistance to chilli lowered, due to uncountable encounters with the traditional Balinese food here in Bali? Or have I become a sambal lover like most of Indonesians did?

However, according to Ms. Diah who owns and operates this eateries, the mild spicy taste of their food actually is well met the likes of both foreign tourists and locals, while domestic tourists especially from Java tends to think that their food is too "jamuistic" or jamu alike.

There are three kind o meals served here; Nasi ayam, Tipat ayam, and Bubur ayam; the last one however only serves during mornings for breakfast, while the two others are served throughout the day.

Among all the Nasi Ayam I've tried in Bali, this one has a specific aroma which sets the taste unique, I don't know what but it fits well to the term "jamuistic".

Warung Krishna is also the good example of how a business lasts through only word of mouth promotion alone; nine years in business, no single advertisement ever made on paper or magazine, yet customers are flourished in daily, and they are booked occasionally for large party gathering, or sponsored events. Good Eat at Tan's Kitchen The Claypot & Chicken Rice, Denpasar

Located right beside our favorite Ayam Presto Genteng Biru, a new Chinese food restaurant was opened. What catches my intention are two things; first is that they looks like specializing in the more sophisticated kind of Chinese food; the barbecue dishes, and the second is that they claimed to apply halal standard!

Now two of them standing alone meant nothing special, since there's a lot of Chinese restaurant that specializing in BBQ dishes in Denpasar alone; but to find one with halal standard, now that's a rare gem. And as it's been a while since I had a good plate of Hainan Chicken Rice, so it was set into our family schedule that the new restaurant is our next aim for a try out.

View to the open kitchen at the front
And so we did stick to that schedule since on last Friday after office, me, my wife, and kid (the usual gang) manage to drop by the "Tan's Kitchen The Claypot & Chicken Rice" at Genteng Biru shopping malls, right after the rain stopped pouring. Wife was tempted to go next door instead (her fave), but understanding that her husband was longing for a good plate of Hainan Chicken Rice so she willingfully enters the premise where you can see the hanged duck and chicken right up front where the open kitchen is.

After inquiring the waiter about their specialty, I set my choice on Nasi Ayam Rebus (20K), which is a combination of Boiled Chicken a la Tan's Kitchen, and plain rice. I changed the plain rice to the Hainam rice however, since those two are like twin siblings that should never be separated.

I was tempted though to try their Peking Duck (35K a quarter, 138K whole), and I was also curious about their Ayam Panggang Wijen (sesame roasted chicken - 36K a half, 70K whole). However, a simple cooked dish like boiled chicken in this case, is a good indication of the chef's skill, and the premise's overall quality.

Ayam Goreng Pemuda Jakarta - Review

Rating:★★
Category:Restaurants
Cuisine: Asian
Location:Jl. Surabaya, Jakarta
