Located inside Euphoria Hotel, Kuta, Bali, Golden Saffron held its grand opening on 12 December 2015, with live Indian dance entertainment, acoustic music, and surely the showcase of the best dishes that Golden Saffron has.
Sits in the middle of the busy Patih Jelantik street, Golden Saffron offers convenience dining spot for both the Asian dominated hotel's guests, as well as travelling tourists visiting Kuta, Legiaan, and Dewi Sri area.
Armed with years of experience from running similar restaurant in Surabaya, Golden Saffron Bali brings their unique menu combo of Indian Cuisine (60%), Chinese (30%), and Western (10%). To maintain its authenticity, they hire expert Indian chef to oversee the daily kitchen operation.
For the Indian dishes, the restaurant serves different cuisines from both Northern and Southern India. As with their signature menu, according to the restaurant's owner Vedanta Das, Golden Saffron Bali offers Thali, or the Indian version of mixed rice, a meal made up of a selection of various dishes, just that it uses Indian bread instead of rice. There are two versions of Thali offered: Vegetarian one, and Meat one.
The idea behind a Thali is to offer all the 6 different flavours of sweet, salt, bitter, sour, astringent and spicy on one single plate. A proper meal according to Indian food serving customs.
Beside of Thali, expect popular Indian cuisines to show up on the menu like Biryani rice, Butter Chicken, Chicken Tandoori, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Curries. Don't miss out their Tandoori Murgh Hariali (Green Chicken Tandoori) which tasted awesome with its flavorful spices.
In general there are four type of proteins for the Indian and Chinese dishes served in Golden Saffron: chicken, mutton, fish, and vegetarian. There's also pork for the grilling BBQ section, cooked with separate cooking utensils.
